Akash Sandhu
Akash's journey
Akash is the Founder and CEO for Ascential Restaurant Group. He started his career close to two decades ago in his family's Church’s Chicken business. Soon after graduating from college, he became a brand partner of Little Caesars and most recently Jersey Mike’s. Akash has been selected to sit on numerous franchise advisory councils to provide input and ideas that guide leadership’s overall brand strategy.
He is an award-winning operator who has been recognized for multiple achievements throughout his career in operations, marketing and new unit development. Akash graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from the University of Houston.
Laila Sandhu
Laila's journey
Laila serves as Co-Founder and Managing Partner for Ascential Restaurant Group. Prior to Ascential, she spent nearly a decade in technology and management consulting. She worked with numerous Fortune 100 companies to maximize business performance, implement innovative tech solutions, improve business operations, and increase revenue.
Laila has also worked in FP&A where she supported financial planning and variance analysis, developed financial models and budgets, and prepared multi-year pro-forma projections. Laila earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Supply Chain Management from the University of Houston.
Hiren Kapadia
Hiren's journey
Hiren is a Jersey Mike's Partner at Ascential Restaurant Group. Before joining Ascential, he was a mechanical engineer for 11 years and worked on hundreds of projects to solve complex vibration problems for companies all over the world. He identified potential risks in piping designs and machine systems, built predictive models, and designed innovative solutions to improve asset reliability across the Energy markets. He also created and led training courses at industry conferences over pulsation and vibration for reciprocating machinery.

Hiren is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
